Replace Brake Fluid

Clean brake fluid with help keep the brakes feeling crisp.

Replace brake fluid if brake if it is a rusty color. Brake fluid should be clear or honey colored. The brake fluid reservoir/master cylinder  is located under the instruments on the dash. To access reservoir, sit in drivers seat and reach over dash, feel for small depressions and pull forward.

  • Instructions for changing brake fluid and bleeding can be found on page 47.8a of Bentley

  • For the record I have not done this. When we purchasing the van it literally had no rear brakes due to both rear wheel cylinders being blown. I though it was best if a mechanic did this as we had to drive 5 hours home the next day.
